Newark Township Fire Department participates in automatic response agreements with surrounding Departments.

The Department was formed in 1951 and was 100% volunteer up until 2009 when we became Part Time Paid from the hours of 7 a.m. through 7 p.m.365 days a year including weekends and holidays. As of 04/01/2021 we are now staffed 24/7/365 for your fire and EMS needs.

ISO Rating

​The Department Currently holds an Insurance Services (ISO) rating of 4 in all hydrant areas, which is considered a premium rate by most insurance companies. All non-hydrant areas hold a rating of 8B.
